Welcome to Liz Thorpe, our Head of Client Services

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Liz Thorpe to the Employer Connections team. Liz will be our Head of Client Services and demonstrates our commitment to supporting our rapidly growing client base with the very best engineering and consultancy expertise.

Liz has a huge range of experience in talent management technology, both on the client side and with a leading system provider. Amongst previous roles she was Head of UK Implementation at Stepstone and she has just finished delivering a major project into the government sector.

This experience of successfully delivering high profile projects to demanding customers strengthens our team greatly and we are very pleased that Liz chose to join us against stiff competition.

The Challenge

In November 2010, The Challenge Network was selected to be the largest provider for the first National Citizen Service projects.

Supporting the 2011 programmes would require a core team of 60 plus 800 seasonal staff (up from 20 and 120, respectively, in 2010).

The Tools

The networks built around their existing staff and the seasonal staff alumni from the previous year were seen as a key component of “the staffing machine”.

The platform chosen to manage the network was a trusted social network built by Employer Connections.

The platform delivers a branded and managed environment with multiple communities having different access to content and people.

Initial take-up was high, over 85% of the invitations sent to core staff and previous seasonal staff were accepted.

Employee Referrals

The various roles were posted within the network and members were encouraged to invite contacts to join the talent pool community through sharing jobs and other information.

The trusted social network tracked referrals, enabled second-degree referrals and provided continuous feedback to encourage activity.

Results

The first phase of the trusted social network deployment has been hugely successful. In the first six months 40 referrals were generated by the 103 members of the trusted network.

No financial incentives were necessary to promote referrals and they were of exceptionally high quality. In total the trusted social network delivered 38 hires.

Version 3 of Employer Connections Platform Released

We are pleased to announce the release of version 3 of the Employer Connections trusted social network platform. This release is focused on sharing and referral, particularly in the recruitment context.

We have updated our website

The story so far (February to August 2010)

Our latest updated website reflects our experiences since our market launch of Employer Connections in February 2010.

So far, we have met and shared our ideas and thoughts with more than 25 large enterprises and multinationals in a variety sectors. These include professional services, technology, media, electronics, energy, business services and consumer products.

Our trusted social networks for business innovation has been warmly received in the market and has generated a lot of enthusiasm from the many potential customers who ‘get it.’ People have been generous with their input and time, and we thank them all for their help and interest in the development of our venture.

The solutions we now offer are those suggested by these companies, and how they envisage using our business networking tools.
